Clares Rock Hostel
Clare's Rock Hostel and private shared self-catering accommodation is located in the rural village of Carron at the top of the Burren Mountains and is part of a traditional working Burren farm. It is central to all the main attractions in the Burren.
We provide private ensuite rooms for, couples, families and individuals in a clean and comfortable environment.
The main hostel was built in 1998 and here we have catered for many adult study, environmental and recreational groups. Families and couples are catered for mainly in our newer Jones’ building built in 2005.
We are an eco-friendly accommodation due to our energy, waste and water policies and guests can rest comfortably in the knowledge that their carbon footprint will be lessened by staying at Clare’s Rock.
Carron is centrally located to all the main attractions of the Burren including Poulnabrone dolmen, the two main stone forts, Turloughs, Castles, Walking trails, Burren national park, Burren nature reserve, and Irelands oldest working perfumery. We are about 25 minutes from The Cliffs of Moher.
The village is the birthplace of Michael Cusack the founder of the G.A.A. (Gaelic Athletic Association). The Burren way (marked walking trail) passes through Carron.
